In pursuit of my interest in becoming a healer I went to meet Freda, a notorious Spiritual Medium. I asked her if I had any of these things she had called ‘Spirit Guides’, expecting her to describe various unseen ‘Beings’. She sat me down and casually said ‘well now, let’s see about these Guides of yours then’. Leaning forward , she placed her hands on mine and promptly appeared to go to sleep.I was aware of comfortable warmth around my body and felt ‘at peace’, perhaps for the first time.

Suddenly the silence was broken, in no uncertain manner. A male voice boomed at me in broken English. It filled the entire room and seemed to be coming from no particular focal point. I glanced at Freda, who still appeared to be asleep and noticed that her lips were not moving at all. This voice identified himself as ‘Red Hawk’ and spoke to me at some length about myself and my situation from a material and spiritual viewpoint. I winced a little when the voice declared that I had ‘a few rough edges that needed knocking off’. Red Hawk, as he called himself, went on to describe to me three ‘Guides’, one of which was introduced as a Chinese Tibetan individual who was ‘very old with long scraggly hair’. The voice started to chuckle and said ‘He laugh when I say that’. I had previously been taught that ‘age’ was meaningless in the non-physical world and giggled at this cosmic joke. At this point the voice said to me ‘When you are alone in house, make comfortable the body and put hands together like this’, where upon Freda`s hands sprang into action and assumed a praying gesture. ‘When you do this’, the voice continued, ‘spirit come. Do not be afraid ‘. After this the voice came together in the middle of the room and ascended through the ceiling and beyond until it had disappeared.

Returning home I determined to put this to the test. I had the house to myself the following day and the opportunity presented its self, so I followed the instructions that Red Hawk had given me the day before. What was interesting was, that what I had expected to happen did not. I expected to have to wait for ages in meditation but the moment my hands touched each other there was, what I can only describe as a ‘Mighty Rushing Wind’, which came at me across the room. The windows were closed, as was the door and the weather outside was bright, warm and still. This ‘Mighty Rushing Wind’ was followed by a sensation across my face as if a piece of damp muslin where being draped over it. I jumped in shock! at this manifestation and immediately everything ceased. I tried to re-create the experience many times but to no avail .The promise had been kept, and that appeared to be that. I found myself practising healing quite soon after that with some outstanding results, much to my amazement. Now I realise that these early clients were ‘drawn’ to me only because instantaneous cures happened to be possible in their particular cases, there-by giving me the confidence needed to continue.

I first started channelling about ten years ago. I was sitting in a meditation group at the time and each time I attended, I experienced a strange ‘push’ to speak. It was explained to me that someone wanted to channel through me. Even though this struck a chord of truth in me, I wanted none of it. I was afraid of making a fool of myself! I had no way of telling what I was going to say and feared perhaps that I might find myself, reciting nursery rhymes, or talking a load of incomprehensible gibberish. Week after week the ‘push’ would come and week after week I would resist. It was inevitable that something would have to give and clear also, that it wasn't about to be the ‘push’. Eventually I gave in, took a deep breath and let go. I didn't go into trance or anything but sort of ‘stepped sideways’ and let it happen. Being aware of what was coming out of my mouth, I noticed that my voice had changed considerably. The material was very inspirational. The ‘Being’ who manifested stated that he was of Chinese/Tibetan origin and I christened him ‘TENG’. He is quite happy with this since he is not particularly interested in names, save for the purpose of identification. Was this really a ‘separate entity’ or was it the work of my sub-conscious or worse, was it a product of wishful thinking or just my imagination.

TENG must have been aware of my feeling because I got my proof over a period of time. I had started giving talks and demonstrations at different venues, by that time. Although channelling did not feature in any way during these events, at some of them, complete strangers would come up to me and describe a Chinese gentleman who they had seen near my shoulder, during the session.

There are two ‘beings’ who channel through me. One is TENG, who was the first, then RAMA came along, with a firmer hand, one day and more recently MELCHIZADECK started to communicate whilst RAMA disappeared off the face of the universe. I am told they are all, in reality, the same entity. A group soul, which manifests different aspects of its being as the occasion demands.

I have always been free to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in any given situation and they always respect and accept that without fail. In other words, I'm in charge- which is the way it should be. If it is appropriate the group soul will channel, if it is not, they will not. This is an excellent safeguard against any possibility of my making things up due to outside pressure. The group soul, via TENG, RAMA and MELCHIZADEK, have given me certain guidelines with regard to channelling which are important. They say that just because they are ‘Light-Beings’ that doesn't mean to say that everything they say is the ‘last word’ as far as truth is concerned. They ask you to make your own assessment of their channelled material and accept it or reject it as you see fit. They also make it clear that there is no such thing as one hundred percent pure channelling and liken it to the use of the telephone when the line may be bad. --What is passed on is not always what is transmitted.

When I have been transcribing tape recordings of communications from TENG he has sometimes intervened and told me that he did not say this or that and suggested that I amend it. You will see from this that absolute honesty with oneself is perhaps the prime requirement for anyone who channels. If the channelled material which follows helps, even in the smallest way, then my struggle will have benefited you as well as myself. For this I am thankful.
