WHEN YOU’RE ALONE
When no-one is looking, When no-one can see, Do you learn to make friends With the dark side of thee? Do you turn all the lights on, The music too loud, The phone in your hand, Do you call in the crowd? All kinds of NOISE, All types you can find. Anything now! To escape from your mind. Sometimes I can’t identify What is how? Or which is why: So through the mystery I see A thousand faces All is me. Yet is it right to separate The gate-post from the garden gate? Nor yet the garden from the rose? Nor yet the known From he who knows? Within the picture of the whole In which you play a vital role, Don’t let thy focus rest on thee A fragment of infinity.
