We deliberately do not specify any hard and fast rules, as besides the fact that Fountain is an 'idea', it is felt that everyone responds in a completely unique manner to the needs of their own particular community. there is no necessity to form or belong to a group. There is a page on the site where locations are listed where there is no known Fountain group but Fountaineers might like to start one. If you are in this situation please email your location such that it may be added to the list.

FIRST SELECT A FOCAL POINT OR 'HARA' FOR YOUR COMMUNITY, A CLOCK TOWER, TREE, WAR MEMORIAL, FOUNTAIN, MARKET CROSS OR CHURCH FOR EXAMPLE.

THEN, WORKING IN A GROUP (2, 3, OR MORE), MEET TOGETHER TO MEDITATE AND SEND AN INITIAL PULSE OF LIGHT, PRAYER, OR WHATEVER SUITS YOUR WAY OF THINKING, TO THE FOCAL POINT TO ACTIVATE IT.

IT IS ONLY NECESSARY THEN FOR INDIVIDUALS TO FOCUS THEIR ATTENTION FOR A FEW MOMENTS EACH DAY. GROUPS MAY TUNE INTO THE FOCAL POINT TOGETHER AT AN AGREED TIME.

THIS IS THE ESSENCE OF FOUNTAIN WORK.

If you meet together on a regular basis, perhaps weekly, monthly or a few times each year to work together, exchange ideas and generally keep in touch then so much the better, but people who are isolated can do this work very effectively alone.
