I met Colin Bloy something like 20 years ago. He had an incredible and profound effect on my life and the lives of many others. On the first occasion, I attended a talk about the Knights Templar. His talk was totally fascinating and completely blew my mind. I was only there because I had expressed an interest in starting a Fountain group in Cornwall. Eventually it led to something like 28 groups starting up in the South West. He seemed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the esoteric and be acquainted with many people who had written books on the subject.

Colin had a quite unique aproach to history. So far as I understand it he was lucky enough to either be friends with or be taught by a very open minded historian (I think when he was at Uni) and of course was fluent in several languages, and had read a great many books on esoteric and historical subjects many in the original language in which they were written. On top of all this he had a ferociously high IQ. He also had the gift for making friends with significant people (I think it was part of his destiny).

A great part of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail he claimed was written in his flat in Brighton; he always said he was head cook and bottle washer for the authors. He was an amazing (if somewhat messy) cook. However I suspect a great deal of his knowledge and research went into that book. He also knew various high up Masons and people with Templar connections, and of course travelled widely in Europe and the East. He was gifted with the ability to make two and two make five. His library at his flat was a wonder (100s of books on esoteric matters). If he set out to do anything such as his quest for the Cathar grail, there were always just the right people at just the right moment to help him, for instance he got Bill Lewis (famous dowser) to map dowse the region he suspected the Cathar treasure might be in; later when he heard it was likely to be in a certain difficult to reach cave in Andorra, he fortuitously met up with a group of climbers who had the right equipment to enable them to reach it.

When he found the stone (which he said had an equal armed cross incised upon it) . And had recovered from the shock (not every day one finds the Grail). I should mention the term grail can refer to many things including a search for spiritual enlightenment, and there have been many grails both physical and spiritual throughout history; not just those referred to in the romances from 12th cent onwards. Anyway his experience with the Templar preceptory at Shipley where he found the dowsable geometric energy patterns were all generated by one particular stone, and these could be temporarily interrupted by placing other crystalline stones around it: I can only think this may have led him to think of dowsing the Grail stone.

He said once it was rather like having a conversation, and of course he eventually dowsed 2,000 different geometric forms from that stone. He never really made it clear why he did dowse the stone but I think through his lengthy contact with the stone he somehow also made contact with the Elohim (or those that guide the destiny of mankind). So far as I could understand the stone was brought to England and used under instruction (from the Elohim, I wonder?) in a ceremony which took place at Glastonbury, after which he returned it to the original hiding place in the cave. The Fountain groups were started after this, (again I don't know if there was a connection). Colin was someone who had an immense respect for the rightness of matters and would not have dreamt of keeping that stone as a kind of trophy. After all there could come another time when it was necessary for someone else to set out to find it in order to receive the message it carries.

I was always astounded he managed to find time to write so many fascinating accounts of his adventures both in healing and in his search for the truth of exactly what the Templars were up to and how this tied in with the sacred sites and the pilgrim routes throughout Europe. His talks and workshops of which there were many always generated that special energy which attends gatherings of Fountain and likeminded groups. There were many photographs taken which showed the column of light (which Colin referred to as the Holy Spirit) was present. On his travels throughout Europe and the East he always managed to meet significant people and visit significant places.

His whole life was dedicated to enlightening those he met, giving them the keys which opened the doors to many wonders and it was all achieved with humour and lightness. His enthusiasm was captivating and it is incredible to reflect that from its beginnings in Brighton, Fountain became a worldwide phenomenon, spreading as far as Australia where Roger Brown recorded the spread of the grid across the whole of that land and kept the most detailed dowsed record of the patterns and their chronology. Of course dowsing is a unique aspect of Colin's contribution for he could show there were actual changes to the grid pattern, and that energy lines responded to meditational input by large increases in the parallels of which they were made up.

We can do nothing more useful than keep the Fountain meditation alive within our own communities. This simple meditation is far, far more effective than all the lobbying of politicians and what have you, and of course because it is working through the subtle realms, will have a far greater effect than anyone could imagine. It is also less of a target for opposition by vested interests because from their depth of materialism they will be totally unaware of its effectiveness. Evolution not revolution is the way, and in order to evolve, the heart chakra of everyone needs to be fully operational and that can only happen within the right ambience, which of course is the raison detre of the Fountain ethos.
