The Hastings Fountain Group was founded as a contribution to the New Millenium and the need to lift Hastings from it's status as a deprived area to a place of oppportunity and happiness. The positive changes to the seafront, the pier and the fluttering of new and creative business throughout the town has happened from then on. The renewed Alexandra Park is yet another positive development.

During this time the idea to build a peace garden in Alexandra Park was formed. It is to be a garden of scented plants, running water and meditative walkways, built from the inspiration for the need for Peace and positive renewal; a place for the people of Hastings and beyond to come and be calmed and inspired.
Members of the Hastings Fountain Group have been intimately involved with the Peace Garden project and the laying of the Mosaic stone by TV gardening personality Charlie Dimmock in April 2004 is proof that the garden is in the process of becoming reality.

Fountain International is contributing to the costs of a splendid granite stone designed to act as the focal point of the garden.
