View from Mount Teide In December 2003 we thought our trip was to be to see the healer John of God in Abadiania in Brazil where we would be staying to celebrate the Equinox. Changes in situations curtailed our Brazil plans and the desire for an escape from the English winter led us to seek a place of sunshine. We ended up in Tenerife.

Two weeks before we departed for Tenerife, in a group meditation, I was advised that we would be doing a ceremony on the summit of Spain's tallest mountain, the extinct volcano named Teide. The details of the ceremony were to be supplied when we were there, however I did know that we would be creating a circle of stones.

We started most days with healing and development sessions then spent the rest of the day exploring parts of the island with some spots attracting meditations and others just being enjoyed. Back at our apartment the instruction to collect a stone from each part of the island was received in one of the early meditations. I enjoy diving and so took every chance to go in the sea and do some snorkelling. I retrieved two stones from the sea bed around the island. Our visit to Spain's busiest zoo, Loro Parque, enabled us to enjoy dolphins, sea lions, parrots and other creatures, many of which are used in breeding programmes to repopulate the wild, and to establish a healing column at the entrance to the parque. We also retrieved a piece of limestone which had been imported to this volcanic island.

Energised StonesOn the morning of the equinox we had a short meditation where we blessed all the stones collected. Arriving at Mount Teide in the afternoon of the equinox meant most of the crowds had departed and so we enjoyed the peace of the occasion and caught the cable car to the summit, some 3000m above sea level. A pathway led us to a wonderful viewing area part of which was large flat rock. We spread the stones out, we had thirteen in all, including the crystal brought from the UK plus a piece of green sea glass. We created our circle as shown in the picture and began a meditation. We soon became part of the environment and our energies were projected to a crystalline mass at the core of the planet. From here they were resonated in the form of rays, to the rest of the planet with special links to Big Island Hawaii, Yellowstone Park and our own base in England. The power of the energies quite surprised us and helped us to realize what a magnificent project we are part of. After the meditation we placed the crystal and all except one of the stones around the summit. The remaining stone has returned to England with us, maintaining an active link to this energy point.
